Is Havelock better than Port Blair?

Havelock is the most visited island in the entire Andaman Archipelago and houses the famous Radhanagar and Elephant beaches. This island is pretty crowded and has almost all the facilities available in Port Blair. Whereas in Neil Island, people do not visit this place often compared to Havelock.

Yes you can carry alcohol, but only in your checked in luggage and not in the hand baggage. We didn’t see any liquor shops in Havelock, though we didnt even try to find one. over a year ago. Alcohol is allowed in checked in baggage aboard Makruzz but the bottle should be sealed.

Which is better for scuba Neil or Havelock?

Neil does not have the same mangrove cover as Havelock, and so tends to have lower sedimentation run-off. This results in generally better visibility closer to shore.


If you are a first timer, we recommend you spend at least 5 days on the island. Give another 2 days for travel and that makes it a week of vacation. This is good for a regular and a honeymoon package.
